PT Petro Jordan Abadi (PJA) consist of 4 units of chemical plants which are interrelated to each other :
1. Sulfuric Acid Plant (SA)
2. Phosphoric Acid Plant (PA)
3. Granulated Gypsum Plant (GG)
4. Offsite Facility (OFF)
SULFURIC ACID PLANT (SA)
Sulfuric Acid Plant (SA) using rwa material sulfur and air. Sulfur will be burned with excess dried
air to produce SO2 gas. Heat of combustion that occurs utilized for producing steam in Waste Heat Boiler Produced gas from combustion
process are fed to the reactor or Converter.
In the Converter, Gas SO2 will react with residual oxygen to form SO3 compounds. This reaction drive
by the catalyst Vanadium Pentaoksida (V2O5) in the converter. Result of the SO3 will be impregnated with a solution of concentrated
sulfuric acid to form pirosulfat acid. Pirosulfat acid and then diluted with demineralized water to form sulfuric acid with a larger
amount of absorbing solution of SO3 gas.
The final result of the sulfuric acid plant is a sulfuric acid which is used as a raw material PJA
phosphoric acid plant. If the phosphoric acid plant of PT PJA are not producing, the sulfuric acid will be sold to PT PKG. The
produced steam due to sulfuric acid process, will be used to drive the steam turbine to produce electricity that will be used to meet
the internal needs of PJA.
PHOSPHORIC ACID PLANT (PA)
Phosphoric Acid Plant (PA) requires raw materials such as Rock Phospate Mine Company (JPMC), Jordan.
Rock phosphate will be dissolved and reacted with sulfuric acid to form hemi hydrate Gypsum Slurry in Digester (phosphoric acid plant
reactor). The slurry will be filtered to separate the liquid from solid material. The Filtrate will be transferred to a unit
concentration, while cake is reacted with sulfuric acid to form Di hydrate Gypsum which is also called phospho gypsum or Crude Gypsum,
used as raw material Granulated Gypsum Plant. The filtrate was concentrated on concentration unit befor being sent to consumers (PT
GRANULATED GYPSUM PLANT (GG)
Granulated Gypsum Plant (GG) processing Phospho Gypsum which is supplied from Phosphoric Acid Plant.
Granulated Gypsum Product can be used as an additive / additions in Cement Industry.
Granulated Gypsum Plant (GG) consists of 2 unit plants, purification unit and granulation unit. At
Purification Unit, Phospho Gypsum redissolved and filtered to remove impurities. Product of this Process usually called Purified
Purified Gypsum is then processed at the Granulation Unit to obtain Gypsum shaped granules (grains).
on Pan granulator equipment Granulated Gypsum dried to form hemihydrated Gypsum.
All products Gypsum (Phospho gypsum, Purified Gypsum and Granulated Gypsum) be able to used as
additive in the cement industry.
OFFSITE UNIT FACILITY
Offsite unit facility has several units i.e. the Cooling Water unit, Waste Water Treatment Unit, Demineralization unit
and Instrument air Unit. Waste water treatment (WWT) is used to treat waste water in order not to pollute the environment when
released out of Plant.
